Prerequisites:

There are a number of prerequsites that are necessary for a successful factory reset.

You must have a network environment in which DHCP is used to provide the phone with an IP address and a TFTP server (i.e. DHCP option 150).

There must be an appropriate default load for your phone model on that TFTP server.

To initiate the factory reset:

Start with the phone in a powered off state. While holding the "#" key down on the keypad, apply power to the phone. Keep the "#" key depressed until the light on the mute button and handset light strip turns off and all other lights (line button, headset button, speakerphone button and select button) stay green.

Soft reset:

The code for the soft factory reset is:

123456789*0#

When you press 1, the lights on the line buttons turn red. The light on the select button flash when a button is pressed.

If you press the buttons out of sequence, the lights on the line button, headset button, speakerphone button, and select button turn green. You will need to start over and press 123456789*0# in sequence again.

After you press these buttons, the phone goes through the factory reset process.

Do not power down the phone until it completes the factory reset process, and the main screen appears.

A soft reset does the following: User configuration settings are reset to default values. Network setup settings are reset to default values. Call histories are erased. Locale information are reset to default values.
